What We've Heard: Open Space And Recreation

Redwood City residents indicated that any plan needs a balance of open space uses. For local residents, this includes:
  • Couple passive open areas, such as restored habitats, with active open space including public parks and sports fields
  • Restore wetland habitat without raising taxes
  • Suggested open space areas include:
    • Athletic fields, including baseball/softball, soccer and other multi-purpose fields
    • A large public park with playgrounds
    • Open space around the waterfront
    • Significant areas of habitat restoration
    • Water-based recreation opportunities
OUR COMMITMENT: Designated significant areas of any future plan as both active and passive open space to provide for habitat restoration and public recreation opportunities at no cost to taxpayers.
