What We've Heard: Local Economy

Protecting the local economy was listed as a vital component to any new plan for the Saltworks site. A wealth of valuable feedback relating to local economic issues was provided from the local community, including:

• Protect city finances and taxpayer dollars
• Provide adequate affordable housing
• Enhance the local jobs-to-homes balance to help off-set heavy commutes into Redwood City
• Connect any future use at the Saltworks site to the revitalized Downtown Redwood City; ensure that future retail and commercial areas complement Downtown businesses
• Provide housing near jobs, transit centers and core urban areas
