50/50 Balanced Approach with Public Access OR Continued Industrial Use and Salt Making with No Public Access?

The 2.2 square mile privately owned Redwood City Saltworks site covers 1,433 acres of land and portions of this site have been used for industrial operations for over 100 years. For two years, the DMB Redwood City Saltworks team has requested community feedback to help guide the future plans for this site. The options for the property have evolved into two basic choices.

Under this choice, more than 700 acres of land would be dedicated to publicly accessible open space, restored habitat and active recreation with biking and hiking trails along the bayside areas, at no cost to taxpayers.

50/50 Balanced Approach
  • Public Access
  • Bayside Biking/Hiking Trails
  • 700 Acres of New Open Space
  • Housing for Working Families
  • New Sports/Recreation Parks
  • Road/Transit/Flood Improvements
Some people believe that opening up the site for use by the community could provide important new access to the Bay and important benefits to the community. Is this your choice?

The other option is for this privately owned property to continue to be used for industrial purposes - as it is today. Is this your choice?
